Features
Semestris is built around a simple idea: your calendar should work for you. Anchor scheduling, smart task tracking, and an AI-powered browser extension are the tools that make it happen.
Anchor scheduling
Most people spend more time planning their day than actually doing things. Anchor eliminates that.
Hit "Fill My Day" and Anchor scans your calendar for every free slot between 8 AM and 9 PM. It then matches your pending tasks — highest priority first — to those open windows and drops them in automatically, with no overlap and no double-booking.
The result: a fully scheduled day in one click. You decide what needs doing; Anchor decides when.
How it works
Add tasks with a priority (high / medium / low) and a duration
Anchor finds every free slot in today's calendar
Tasks are placed into those slots, priority first
Scheduled tasks appear in the calendar and move to "Scheduled" in your task list
Task management
A task isn't just a title. It has a weight, a deadline, and a clock ticking on it. Semestris tracks all three.
Every task carries a priority level, a duration in minutes, and an optional due date. Overdue tasks surface in red. Tasks scheduled by Anchor show a ✦ marker. Completed tasks are checked off and moved out of the way.
Three columns keep everything visible at a glance — To Do, Scheduled by Anchor, and Done — so you always know where you stand.
Task fields
Title — what needs to be done
Priority — high, medium, or low (drives Anchor ordering)
Duration — how long it takes, in minutes
Due date — optional, highlighted red when overdue
Browser extension
Open any whitelisted page — an email, a course portal, a job listing, a Slack message — and the Semestris extension reads it.
It uses AI to extract dates, deadlines, and action items from the page content, then presents them as one-tap calendar events. No copy-pasting, no manual entry.
You control which sites the extension runs on via the whitelist in your settings. Add any URL pattern and every matching page will be scanned automatically.
Works on
Gmail & Outlook — extract deadlines from incoming emails
Canvas, Brightspace, Blackboard — pull assignment due dates
Job boards & event pages — capture application and registration cutoffs
Any page you whitelist — full control over what gets scanned
Calendar views
A calendar is only useful if it shows you what you actually need to see. Semestris gives you three views — Day, Week, and Month — so you can zoom in on today or step back to see the whole picture.
Every event, deadline, and Anchor-scheduled task appears across all three views. Color-coded by category, they stay visually distinct no matter how packed your schedule gets.
A mini calendar in the sidebar lets you jump to any date instantly. Click a day, and the main view snaps to it.
Views
Day view — hourly breakdown, full detail on today
Week view — five-day grid with event blocks and time slots
Month view — high-level overview of your entire month
Mini calendar — jump to any date from the sidebar
